Planetary mixing has been used for decades in various industries to mix,
stir and beat the product. It provides a very homogeneous and intensive mixing
due to the typical ex-centric movement of the product which is created by the
ex-centric position of the mixer-arm in relation to the centre of the bowl.
In the pharmaceutical industry, the planetary mixer is often used for
basic operations of mixing, blending, and low-shear granulation, although new
technologies like single pot processing are becoming more and more important.
The MPH range of planetary mixers by Collette (part of GEA Pharma Systems
Systems group) is built to comply with pharmaceutical cGMP-standards and is
recognized by companies worldwide as high quality, reliable and low
maintenance.
